Siddiq Leather Works
One of the Most Modern Tanning Industry in Pakistan
Founded as the Shafi Group of Pakistan in 1940 when late mian Muhammad Shafi was engaged in trading of hides & skins along with his elder sons, Mian Muhammad Siddiq and Mian Abdul Hafeez. With the help of the almighty Allah and their hard work, this small trading house grew to become one of the pioneers of tanning industry in Pakistan.
The family that started business as a local merchant became a self-reliant & diversified industry leader in the leather sector of the country. It therefore earned a first class reputation in quality & reliability in leather trade to a level where the Shafi Group was adjudged as one the top 20 most important & influential tanners in the world by the leather international magazine.

Our contribution to Leather History
The business was started by our great grandfather Mian Muhammad Shafi before the creation of Pakistan in 1947.
The Skin Trade1940 
Mr. Muhammad Siddiq realized that export of processed leather is the future for his business, so he decided to establish a leather tannery
The Revelation1950 
Led by Mr Muhammad Siddiq’s vision, the company started exporting Chrome tanned and Vegetable tanned skins around the world
Export of Tanned Leather1960 
The 80’s brought expansions in the business with additions of tanneries, the garment factories and the addition of Shoe manufacturing.
Expanding Company1980 
Two new tanneries were added in the family’s business portfolio along with a Specialty Chemical’s manufacturing facility taking the number of businesses in the family to double digits.
New Projects1990 
The growth in business had to keep pace with the growth in family size so the group diversified further into Dairy, Textiles and Food ingredients / sweeteners.
New Millenium2000 
Siddiq Shafi Group now includes a manufacturing unit in tanning, two shoe manufacturing units, a specialty chemicals manufacturing unit, a shoe brand, a renewable energy unit, a dairy products unit and an integrated rice derivative complex.
